Responsibilities
- Sets up and adjust process condition for more complex tools. Utilize previous data trend to set up several molding conditions. Supports and provides training to less experienced members.
- Supports Manufacturing in troubleshooting on more complex molding problem. Develops mold trial schedule with other departments. Utilizes cavity sensor to establish Decouple III process.
- Utilizes eDart data to establish alarm setting (similar to molding machine quality range). Finds root cause and proposes countermeasure regarding defects to achieve high quality results.
- Perform complex Moldflow analysis for problem investigation. Utilize Moldflow result, setting up molding condition for known problem in advance. Possess an understanding of other department functions/responsibilities to interact with them on a regular basis.
- Assists management with development or improvement of procedures/policies. Responsible for preparing quotes for new molding business.
- Supports molding in improvement activities related to mold change over. Keeps track of and ensure mold trial activity is on schedule.
- Uses measurement data to select process condition on simple parts. Analyze part measurement data and machine output data to adjust process on simple problems.
- Performs simple Moldflow simulation for mold ability and potential problem prediction.
Qualifications

- A Bachelor's degree in Polymer/Plastics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 2-5 years' experience in injection/blow molding field or tool design.
- Clear understanding of SIM principles (Scientific Injection Molding).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Oracle, Proquis.
- Ability to create and present presentations and/or technical papers to management within and outside of Canon Virginia.
- Able to lead basic projects.
- Fluent in electronic CAD systems: NX, SolidWorks, Pro/E, OSD.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
