Are you ready to make your mark? If you're an Accountant, we have an exciting opportunity for you. This position reports to a leader within the Finance organization. The key purpose of this position is to provide financial accounting support in accordance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements, Woodward policies and procedures, and standards of internal control. This position requires moderate supervision. This position will involve a significant amount of interaction with internal customers and a moderate amount of direct interaction with external customers.

What you will be doing:

  • Understands and applies general accounting principles to transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Plays a significant role in month-end General Ledger close process, including creation and posting of journal entries, meeting established deadlines, and analyzing results vs. expectations.
  • Performs reconciliation of general ledger account balances and applies appropriate disposition to reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Identifies opportunities and works collaboratively to drive process standardization and automation.
  • Supports internal and external audit requests for areas of responsibility.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley process owner for areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Visio, core ERP System, General Ledger, etc.
  • Ability to successfully apply accounting theory to situations and transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and excels in communicating with individuals and groups.
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Professional certification e.g. - CPA, CMA, CIMA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent desired.
  • 2-5 years experience
  • Experience working at a global company preferred
