Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit | The Division of Student Affairs fosters student growth and development as well as aids, directs and informs students about services and programs that will expand students’ educational experiences and prepare them for diverse lives in local and global communities. The Division of Student Affairs is responsible for many of the outside the classroom/off campus aspects of student life at ECSU, including student engagement and leadership; career services; student disability services; residential life; student activities; special programs and services; student health and counseling services. |
Description of Work | Primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CRC – Viking CARES program. The coordinator will facilitate alcohol and other drug assessments, provide short-term counseling, and psycho-educational groups related to substance and behavioral disorders. Also, the coordinator will facilitate programs related to prevention. |
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position | Master’s degree in Counseling and/or related field. Candidate should be license eligible (LCMHC, LCSW, or LCAS). Knowledgeable in substance use and behavioral disorders. The candidate should be organized and self-motivated. |
