Job Description

We are searching for a mission-driven professional with an active SECRET clearance to become our US Navy and US Army Watercraft CAD Operator IV in Fort Eustis, VA or Philadelphia, PA.

A week in the life of a CAD Operator IV:

  • Provide Naval Architecture support services to US Navy and US Army Modernization Programs
  • Creating new and modifying existing drawings such as ShipAlts, BoatAlts, MachAlts and Bill of Materials in support of modernization Programs.
  • Perform Shipcheck and Craftchecks to verify as-built design and determine requirements for design alterations.
  • Provide on-site coordination, engineering, technical, metrics, and program management support to US Navy and US Army Surface Ship Programs including attendance at production and status meetings providing remote and local in-service support.
  • Provide engineering and technical services required for Code 251 and Code 252, which are required for DDG MOD, DDG Tech Refresh and MACHALT installations.
  • Support Technical Refresh and System Modernization programs for alterations and installations (AITs, SHIPALTs, etc.) of various HM&E systems including Machinery Control Systems, Fuel Control Systems, Damage Control Systems, Integrated Bridge Navigation System, Navigation, Auxiliary, etc.
  • Provide configuration, testing, training support and assessments of HM&E systems aboard AS, CG, CVN, DDG, FFG, LCC, LCS, LHA, LHD, LPD, LSD, MCM, and other U.S. Navy, and U.S. Army ship and vessel classes.
  • Support shall include on-site coordination, logistics, metrics, and program support on-site at various shipyards, and Naval Stations in San Diego, CA, Norfolk, VA, Portland, OR, Mayport, FL, Seattle, WA, Honolulu, HI, Everett, WA, Yokosuka, Japan, Yokohama, Japan, Sasebo, Japan, and Rota, Spain areas.
  • Provide engineering support including design, testing, data analysis and procedure development for HM&E equipment and systems.
  • Support the Government In Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs) with all applicable DDG MOD, DDG Tech Refresh, MACHALT, and ISEA test procedures through HM&E Sea Trials on all ship availabilities.

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ten (10) years of experience in development of engineering drawings and systems and equipment directly related to the SOW; using AutoCAD or equivalent and reviewing, revising, and maintaining quality standards of a multi-disciplinary CAD project.
  • Ability to demonstrate an Understanding of 2D and 3D engineering design and associated architecture software such as Catia, Ship Constructor, AutoCAD Revit or equal.
  • Familiarity with US Navy Surface Ship and US Army Watercraft Modernization programs
  • Possess a working knowledge of Service Life Extension Program (SLEP)
