A postdoctoral scholar position is in The Leroy T. Canoles Jr. Cancer Research Center and the George L. Wright Center for Biomedical Proteomics at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, a leader in the field of biological mass spectrometry, proteomics and cancer biomarker discovery and development. The Research Scholar will be incorporated into the project team and will participate in project planning, experimental design, sample processing, LC/MS, computational and pathway analysis, data interpretation.
The position will also include opportunities to co-author publications and to contribute to the development of grant proposals. The Research Scholar will join a team working closely with research scientists, graduate students, and faculty from other research groups. Professional development is strongly encouraged including support for professional travel to relevant conferences.
PhD degree in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, proteomics, or related fields. Experience with mass spectrometry, proteomics, metabolomics, liquid chromatography, bioinformatics and coding is a plus.
