The role

Cognizant seeks a Transformation Leader for Retail to partner with the SVP, Head of Retail Business Unit (BU). The Transformation Leader will play a key role on the Retail BU Leadership Team, charged with balancing a mix of operational, planning, and strategic responsibilities in support of the business.

Working daily with the BU Head, this leader will be responsible for running the cadence of the BU's office and priorities. This includes coordinating staff meetings and driving the execution of action items, leading the budget, project handling enterprise activities, and everything in between. For the right candidate, the volume and velocity of activity will be energizing and exciting.

In this role, You will navigate sophisticated and critical situations. The ability to prioritize and drive multiple responsibilities simultaneously, while balancing progress on long-term projects with the vitality of immediate operational demands is a must. You be as a liaison between the BU Head and other constituencies, running the flow of communications both internally and externally.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial competence and project management skills. It is crucial that the selected individual have shown operational capability and time management skills. They will collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, building strong and sustainable business relationships while interacting with all levels of the organization.

This role will report directly to the Retail Business Unit Head for Cognizant

Responsibilities
  • Supervising and supporting the implementation of priority actions across the organization;
  • Driving short and long-term planning processes aligned to Retail BU Head's priorities;
  • Leading Rhythm of activities that require BU head presence- BU QBR, Investor and Analyst meetings, client C suite meetings
  • Handling information flow, review, and decision-making processes;
  • Helping teams prepare to present well thought out discussions/ documents to the Retail BU Head;
  • Shown depth in Retail Banking and Financial Services
  • Preparing EC and Board-level discussion papers;
  • Supporting the Retail BU Leadership Team on key projects and issues;
  • Handling the annual planning and budgeting process;
  • Running BU communication plan - internal and external;
  • Leading a portfolio of strategic projects, and
  • Serving as a strategic thought partner for the Retail BU Head and Leadership Team.
Required qualifications
  • 10+ years of consulting experience;
  • Experience with staff organizations in large private or public institutions;
  • Prior experience in a senior-level project management role;
  • Experience running multi-million dollar budgets;
  • Validated experience leading and influencing efficiently in a matrixed, multi-national organization.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or other advanced degree;
  • Experience supporting the Retail and Consumer Goods industries;
  • Ability to think strategically and implement tasks large and small with meticulous attention to detail;
  • Ability to simplify and synthesize large volumes of sophisticated information for review and/or decision;
  • Excellent analytical abilities and problem solving skills;
  • Capacity to drive process-discipline;
  • Strong social skills, program and project management experience;
  • Tried ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct multiple projects and activities with varying deadlines;
  • Prior experience working in or directly with Brand Marketing, Field Marketing, and/or Marketing Communications on Go-to-Market strategies, client engagement, and brand communications;
  • Strong change management orientation and experience;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Exemplary judgment, tact, discretion, and integrity.
Location

The primary work location for the Retail BU Head is based out of the Seattle area. The Transformation Leader can work out of any of Cognizant's US offices or remotely in the Continental US and within driving distance from a major airport.

The Transformation Leader will typically work remotely the majority of the time. However Transformation Leader for Retail may require occasional domestic and international travel.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $175,000 - $200,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
