Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in one of many locations across the country. The right candidate will have experience providing structural consulting services and a background in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The Structural Engineer plays a crucial role in designing and ensuring the structural integrity of various infrastructure projects such as pump stations, reservoirs, and water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

You will work closely with other engineers and designers as a part of the Kennedy Jenks Technical Services Team.

  • Work in concrete, steel, wood, masonry and composite construction to deliver structural solutions for projects both large and small.
  • Use BIM tools to deliver many of these projects, and to provide clients with interactive environments to provide meaningful input on projects from the initial planning stages, through design and construction.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide solutions to clients throughout the United States including municipal agencies, special districts, universities and colleges, corporate campuses and industrial facilities.
  • Design and analyze structures such as treatment plant buildings, tanks, clarifiers and other facilities that are a part of the water and wastewater treatment process.
  • Design and analysis of pump stations including the buildings that house pumps, piping systems and support structures.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering. Masters degree with Structural Engineering focus preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience as a consulting engineer focused on structural design in water and wastewater.
  • Experience managing and leading structural engineering projects from conception to completion. This includes overseeing design, analysis and construction phase.
  • Experience serving as a discipline lead engineer in the design of structures for industrial or municipal infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Deep understanding of structural design principals, codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D/BIM modeling. MicroStation experience preferred.
  • Active PE is required, and able to obtain PEs in other states through reciprocity.

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $120,000 to $150,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
