We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technician in Land Development to support our growing team in the Virginia Beach area.

Position Summary

As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for working on exciting and engaging land development and infrastructure projects in a hybrid work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong analytical skills
• Prepare and modify construction drawings

Qualifications:

• Land Development experience
• General understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic processes
• General knowledge of Stormwater Management Design, Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Design, and Utility Design
• General knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and techniques with reference to construction materials, methods, and procedures
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Education and/or Experience

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Bachelor's Preferred
• 2+ years of full-time, relevant land development engineering experience

Certifications/Licenses

• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D assessment may be required prior to hire

Physical Demands

The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 2/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk for more than 1/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 1/3 of the day.

This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 10 pounds on an infrequent basis.

The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see from a distance are also necessary.
