Job Description:

***Active Security Clearance - TS/SCI CI Polygraph or Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Sr. Consultant, Federal

  • Within 30 days of employment, become competent with VMware Security rules, guidelines, and standard operations. You will work closely with customers, VMware Consultants, and Sales to provide day-to-day operations support for the various VMware Cloud Service portfolios.

  • Within 90 days of employment, you will deploy VMware outcome-based, Software Defined Data Center services on-prem or with a hyper-scaler cloud service provider. You will also deploy Automation solutions to customers' infrastructure and are responsible to resolve customer technical issues through research, lab work, and troubleshooting. Be certified in core VMware and customer-required certifications.

  • Within 180 days you can work on escalations, lead whiteboard technical discussions, Remote Teams/Zoom, and in-person workshops. You will be required to build and present technical documentation to customer, internal, and external teams. Be certified in VMware primary certifications within your cloud services, cloud management, or automation alignment.

  • Within 360 days along with the above requirements, you will be designing, presenting, and delivering technical outcomes with the SaaS and Automation alignment portfolio.

  • This position does require travel for on-site deliveries and/or remote deliveries from home base locations.

  • Have an active government clearance.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

As part of the Federal Professional Service team, you will:

  • Establish solid working relationship with VMware strategic account teams, professional services, customers, and leadership.

  • Provide scripting and cloud support for customer outcomes.

  • Provide VMware best practice and security measurements across all required products.

  • Develop high-quality design documentation and deliverables.

  • Deliver high quality customer outcome and troubleshooting deliverables.

  • Complete required quarterly, annual training, and certifications.

  • Have an open government clearance (TS/SCI with Poly).

  • Possible travel up to 20% of the time meeting with and presenting to current and prospective customers and for internal and customer events.

  • Customer-facing experience with Federal customers and IT consulting experience with Federal Intelligence Community customers highly desired.

  • Experience with current software development methodologies, with emphasis on software and hardware architecture, and infrastructure design and development.

  • Hands on knowledge of VMware products: vSphere, vRA, vRO,

  • Infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning.

Education/Experience required:

  • Bachelors degree

  • 8+ years related work experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $91,200 - $152,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
