Kennedy Jenks is seeking an exceptional Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Associate Engineer for our growing team in Virginia.This is an extraordinary position for a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a dynamic engineering consulting environment, to deliver engineering design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

You will serve as a technical lead for water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects. These projects may span through planning, design and construction phases, providing engineering expertise on all manner of water/wastewater infrastructure projects including water transmission pipelines, sanitary sewer collection systems, tanks/reservoirs, pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment. You will also work closely with project managers and technical leadership to deliver engineering planning and/or design projects. This position provides significant growth opportunities in technical and managerial pathways for associate engineers excited by growing their career as we grow a thriving practice.

  • Leading technical elements of project delivery of water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects through planning studies, design and construction
  • Leading design delivery (plans, specifications and cost estimates)
  • Preparing other engineering deliverables (reports, calculations, letters and memoranda)
  • Providing guidance to project staff working on the same project
  • Applying knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and quality control requirements
  • Coordinating with in-house multi-discipline design teams (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, and architectural) and specialized sub-consultants
  • Supporting Project Managers with overall project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget and quality, and managing assigned scope, schedule and budget

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and communication skills will enable your team to deliver exceptional work products
  • Some travel to project sites, for client visits/meetings, and to other Kennedy Jenks offices will be necessary.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the planning and design of complex, multi-discipline water and/or wastewater projects
  • BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or similar engineering field
  • Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) license, or working toward PE
  • Technical knowledge of the water/wastewater industry
  • Ability to provide excellent client service and interact positively with clients
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
