Job Description

Working location: Joint Expeditionary Base/Little Creek

$17.20/hr

The Floor Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all floor equipment used to perform the maintenance of corridor floors under government contracts. The person in this position must also perform essential preventive maintenance on all equipment as outlined in the equipment technical manual and the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Cleans and keeps in an orderly condition factory working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, apartment house, or commercial or other establishments. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms (WDR Summary 11150).

  • Cleaning hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas as outlined by the contract task and frequency or performance-based contract assignments.
  • Cleaning floors using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing, floor finish applicator, and floor polishing (burnishing) machines.
  • Polishing metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washing windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Emptying wastebaskets, and cleaning ashtrays.
  • Replenishing bathroom supplies.
  • Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
  • Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • Setting an example through dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and personal appearance.
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
  • May be required to train other employees on how to properly use, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • May fill in for general cleaning staff as needed.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
  • Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
