Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking a practice builder in Stormwater Management Engineering and Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) to join our Virginia Beach, Virginia team. The successful candidate will conduct ESC and SWM plan review, develop construction plans, perform design calculations, and assist the MS4 Stormwater Engineering Division Lead in Richmond with a variety of site/civil land development engineering projects for Local Government, Higher Education, and Energy sectors. This Division is based in our Richmond office, but requires additional support in the Hampton Roads region.

Job Duties

* Meet with clients, prepare scopes of works and fee proposals
* Mentor existing staff and build local team
* Conduct ESC and SWM Plan Review
* Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs
* Coordinate with Counties and local municipalities
* Provide technical expertise in site/civil design, hydrology/hydraulics, erosion and sedimentation control, and stormwater management
* Design and create site layout plans in alignment with client requirements and WSSI standards
* Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives (scope, schedule, deliverables) are met in accordance with established metrics

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or biological engineering, or related discipline
* PE or ability to get within one year of employment
* Virginia DEQ ESC & SWM Plan Reviewer Certifications
* Minimum of 5 years Site Plan Review Experience
* Proven experience with Virginia codes, regulations, and interpreting plans
* Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D
* Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
* Ability to provide excellent customer service
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment
* Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail and analytical skills
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals
