Position Overview

  • Part Time: Approximately 16 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • Assume the role as the expert clinical resource for clinical staff and healthcare providers in the outpatient settings to include support groups.
  • You will plan and coordinate education and care of patients/persons with diabetes across a continuum in collaboration with other disciplines, community agencies and Sentara subsidiaries.
  • You will provide patients and their families staff education to promote wellness and prevention of complications associated with diabetes.

Minimum Qualifications

License / Certification

  • Registered Dietician (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Bachelors Level Degree in Dietetics

Experience

  • Must have completed a Dietetic Internship accredited by the ACEND as part of your educational preparation.
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required within 2 years of hire.
  • Expert skills in diabetes patient education/care.
  • Ability to perform all interventions and procedures necessary to care for diabetes patients.

Job Summary
