Job Description

Our team, supporting Military Sealift Command (MSC) in Chesapeake, VA, is sourcing a Modernization Lead to help guide the transformation of enterprise networking capabilities as existing systems are upgraded and new systems are deployed to MSC's fleet of support vessels. Specific duties include:

* Serve as the contract team's stakeholder in meetings with MSC's engineering team, providing critical insight into operational realities and potential constraints, helping to shape systems as they are developed
* Lead transition efforts between MSC's Engineering team and StratasCorp's operational team by ensuring delivery of all required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and software, helping develop deployment plans, and providing feedback to MSC's N6 leadership team
* Help oversee all modernization actions taken by Stratascorp's operational team, including shipboard network upgrades, Network Operations Center (NOC) cloud migration, and the introduction of new technology or processes to increase the efficiency and accuracy of StratasCorp's technical efforts
* Complete administrative tasking as needed, such as bimonthly timesheet approvals, oversight of certification and training completed by team members, and conducting proper asset handling briefings to team members
* Directly supervise Software Management and Quality Assurance staff

Job Requirements

* Must possess current IAM II or higher security certification in accordance with IAWF DoD 8570.01M
* Must have 9 years of progressive IT management experience, preferably with some experience managing shipboard or NOC system deployment and/or modernization
* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
* Must be able to travel as needed to support mission requirements
