Flash Programmer with Flex Expertise

Overview
Triad Interactive is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Flash programmer with outstanding ActionScript and Flex skills to work on a market-leading education program. You will work with the content authors, instructional design team, and other programmers to craft the student learning experience. As a key contributor, you will tackle the most technically challenging aspects of the project, set standards, and research and recommend new technologies. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, dedicated, innovative, and have a track record of taking initiative within a small team environment.

Required Skills
• B.A./B.S. degree in computer science, multimedia, or other relevant field and solid technical experience.
• 3-5 years working in web application development. 

Web coding expertise:
• 3-5 years experience with Web-related skills, including Internet browser-compatible programming expertise in one or more server side scripting languages.
• Expertise in event handling differences per browser
• Familiarity with popular frameworks (Prototype/jQuery)
• Strong CSS skills
Flex expertise:
• 2-4 years working with Flash and ActionScript.
• 1+ years working with Flex framework.
• Flash/Javascript communications (ExternalInterface, etc)
• Component skinning
• Data binding
• Using Web services (SOAP/XML)
• E4X
• Event handling

Desirable Skills
-Graphic (Photoshop) and illustration (Illustrator) aptitude, including experience using paths, gradients (Vector-based drawing)
-Familiarity with C++, OOP
-Advanced Flash skills:
• Creating Flex Components
• Skinning
• Creating UI Components using Flash's toolset
• Experience with unit testing and UI testing (FlexUnit/FlexMonkey or similar)

This position is full-time, salaried, in-house at our downtown Washington DC offices. We have a very casual, yet professional, working environment.

Triad Interactive is a women-owned small business specializing in Web application development. Triad’s flagship product is a simulated Microsoft Office learning and assessment application developed for distribution in the higher education market. Triad also develops a variety of Web-based programs to support the medical research community (primarily cancer research).
