Position Summary:
BCS is looking for a mid-level requirements analyst to support the business process analysis and requirements gathering efforts for IT projects. This position requires an undergraduate degree, preferably in information systems, business management, finance or a related field along with 3-4 years of professional experience, including 2 or more years of experience in the IT requirements gathering field. This position will require frequent travel locally, mostly between Laurel, Maryland and Washington, DC.
This requirements analyst will interact with BCS clients to understand and develop business requirements documents, identify and recommend points of business process improvements/automation, and communicate those requirements in writing and verbally to IT staff. The position will also be responsible for working with the IT team to monitor the development of software products to ensure that they meet specified requirements. In particular, the requirements analyst will develop testing plans and user cases for the testing phase of the software, and facilitate the delivery of the IT products through the development of user manuals and by providing training to users and other trainers.
Experience consulting with the government is a strong plus. The ideal candidate will be able to grasp new business requirements rapidly and have a solutions-based approach to problems. Candidate must be highly organized and able to concurrently perform quick turn-around tasks and long-term projects. Candidate must demonstrate creativity as well as problem solving and time management skills. Candidate must be willing to work on both team and independent assignments. The successful candidate will be client-oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be articulate in written and oral communication.

Business Process Analysis – Quickly grasps client business processes and assists with implementation or streamlining of business processes.

Requirements Documentation – Document formal user and business requirements for IT systems development process.

Testing and Training – Test or coordinate testing of software products to ensure quality and adherence to identified requirements. Provide training to users and other trainers on software products.

Software Documentation – Develop system and user documents for software products.
