What this Position will Offer You?
The opportunity to provide critical systems infrastructure support to the Defense department. This is an opportunity to work with a team representing a collective wealth of knowledge across many technical disciplines to include customer support, systems engineering and development. This position offers the opportunity to gain or expand in many areas of technical knowledge.
The Jr. System Admin will perform Tier 1 and 2 systems administration and end user support on a MS Windows-based network configured with Active Directory and MS Exchange. You will provide direct assistance to users, resolve problems, classify incidents, and determine level, priority and nature of problems. You will open, close and track trouble tickets through resolution. You will ensure problem ownership and promote end-user satisfaction. You will be responsible for the monitoring of complex systems and networks using management tools. You will report system status and information in daily logs. You will be responsible for system backups and data protection at an enterprise level. You will also evaluate and assist in engineering new solutions to meet emerging customer requirements.
Position Requirements:
*Strong communication and writing skills
*The ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
*Good analytical and technical skills, including the ability to provide problem resolutions
*Strong knowledge of commonly used computer concepts, practices, and procedures
*An understanding of basic networking, servers and workstations
*Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution experience
*A self-starter that takes initiative and has the ability to work well in a team environment
*Knowledge of Server 2000 (2003 a plus), Veritas, Active Directory. Lotus Notes and Exchange
*Basic network troubleshooting knowledge is a plus
TS/SSBI Required (Active SCI preferred).
Security Requirements: US Citizenship and an active TS/ SCI clearance
